Not forgetting Huckleberry

Speaking of not forgetting….this week my app ‘Glow’ I use(d) to track my periods told me that my period was due in 2 days!  Well that was a strange thing to say because I had marked “I am pregnant” on the app.  So I decided to open it up and see what was going on.  Glow was telling me I am pregnant still, so  I am not sure why it was telling me my period as due.  Anyway, it came up with a big advert saying download our ‘Nurture’ app, a follow on app to glow for pregnant women.  So I thought, well why not give it a go.  I had already used it once before when I was pregnant after IVF cycle 1 and so downloaded it off my cloud.  Once it installed I opened it up and this is what I was faced with…

huck

Are you kidding me???? Oh it was a stab in the gut. Yesterday I was 44 days overdue and Huckleberry was the size of a slightly bigger pumpkin at 46 weeks old!

I haven’t forgotten you Huckleberry. I promise you I never have.  But this was just too much.  I deleted the app straight away as I couldn’t deal with trying to figure out how to reset it.

How awful. I’m sorry you had this reminder. I deleted all apps last year. I have the same app from last year that I finally activated but I never registered so it was easy to delete the info from last year as it wasn’t stored anywhere other than my phone. I am wondering about registering if I reach 12 weeks but I’m definitely not ready to do that yet. Thinking of you and Huckleberry.

That must have felt like the carpet being pulled out from under you in what should have been a regular moment. The memory of Technology is a blessing and a curse. Sorry to hear you had to deal with that. Xx

Sorry you had to go through that.
Same thing happened with me when I logged into an app. I’d “reported a loss” on my What To Expect app which got rid of all those reminders, but I guess there hadn’t been that option in my other app because when I logged in newly pregnant it told me I was 28 weeks and welcomed me to the third trimester.

I’m sorry something as simple as downloading an app brings up something you’d rather not be reminded of. I had something similar happen a few years ago. I registered on the website the bump when I was pregnant, and then unfortunately miscarried. The website continued to send me weekly updates and I couldn’t figure out how to unsubscribe. I ended up writing the website’s help address to get off their weekly emails.

I have to tell you…I had JUST looked at my Glow app and then looked at WordPress on my phone, and this post was at the top and I thought that my phone was messed up! It had your pic of your app at the top, and I thought somehow my phone was merging my Glow background into WordPress!!
Anyway…I’m sorry that you had to deal with that. And strange that it suddenly gave you an alert when all this time it had sat silent. Of course you haven’t forgotten your little one, and you didn’t need that kind of reminder. *hugs*

I’m so sorry! I can’t imagine how hard that was. I used the Ovia pregnancy tracker and it was a super cute, fun app and if you haven’t used it before there shouldn’t be any horrible surprises. My favorite part was that it showed you the size of the little baby hand as the pregnancy progressed. Might be a fun one for your growing miracle.
